My wife came last May on H4 visa. I am on EAD and working with different company from Feb 2008. She had Advance Parole but she used H4 as it was simpler.

If you are referring to my earlier mail about NIH, it is not a university but an umbrella term for 12 + National Institutes of Health. The institutions are completely funded by and part of the federal government. If there are immigrant investigators working there as staff members, they should at least have GC already. But, postdocs and other 'glorified' staff positions require either J1, H1, EAD from NIH or employed in such visas by contracting staffing companies.
If any IV member works in the university, could you find out if there are any Indian and chineese assistant professors that have joined in the recent past. Such people might have applied in EB2 through university and will be retrogressed.
Also pls get in touch with post-docs in your universities and inform them about IV. Hopefully some of them might be willing to help us with the interview.

3 years visa. It is not a startup company but not very big company. She is not into software.

dreeft, you could set it up as subcontracting work out though, all the work being funneled through one person and then subcontracted to other members of the "group"

oops, in my suggestion above to shoot both lenses at f/5.6, they must also be at the same iso and shutter speed. Suggest shooting one, noting settings, then shooting the other in manual to match iso, ss and aperture.

what does ur online status show btw? also ur dep's earlier checks havent cashed right ? dumb Q :-( one of my friend got in to similar situation he sent it back and checks cashed not sure how much did he sent though.
The status shows application received and rejected. As per the notice the reason is missing signature.The check's haven't cashed..,can you please check with your friend how long it took for him to get the check's cashed after re-sending the application?

Guys,
If one IV member moves from State A to B, what would be the process of transferring membership to state chapter?
Will it merely be a deleting datbase record from one state and adding it to another state? Or would it be again filling up survey to new state chapter..?

Your wife's status should not be an issue if you are on H1, whether with your current employer or new employer. Do not use EAD until your wife has filed for 485 or is on her independent visa like H1, L1, F1, etc.

Bear in mind the following
You dont need to pay any tax in India for money that you withdraw from your 401k for only upto two years after you return back to india. (your are no longer a nri and the 2 years is the buffer)
For any money you withdraw after 2 years, you need to tay tax in US (which shouldnt be a lot if you withdraw little by little and you being non-resident of usa) and also pay tax in india (which could be quite a bit)

---Yes depends on your H1 validity one can continue working although I-94 stamp paroled for 1yr validity expired ie AOS pending status will let you in and contine the work on H1 or EAD

Sorry, unfortunately H1B is biased towards skilled labor. Your major unfortunately does not fall in that category as such. When I say skilled, I'm talking about the sciences, finance, law etc.
Your goal is noble but unfortunately there is no place for you as an employee in the United States on a work visa. You can always try to get married to a US citizen . Much easier path :)
